A good friend of mine co-hosts a weekly podcast about film, music and ‘oddities’ from the 1980s; it’s called the 80’s Picture House. Like many other podcasts on the Internet, it was hosted on the website Podbean. Personally, I feel a web presence on Podbean is visually weak and it could be a lot better presented, but the website didn’t offer the kind of capabilities that were needed to produce a professional-looking website.
My friend’s 30th Birthday was on the horizon, so, luckily for him, I decided to construct a new website as a gift.
I construct a website to encourage social engagement between the show and its listeners. So the design of the website is based on the social site Pinterest by using WordPress and a Themify theme (Pinboard). I also installed and configured a plugin (Social Login) whereby listeners can comment on stories using their Facebook, Twitter, or other social media accounts.
To give the 80’s Picture House podcast that added an extra piece of professionalism, I designed their new branding and modified their Facebook and Twitter profiles accordingly.
