Brief
Dulfy.net is a gaming guide community website specialising in the MMORPGs Star Wars: The Old Republic, Elder Scrolls Online, and Guild Wars 2. The webmaster, Kristina Hunter, wanted two things: a look and feel upgrade to make the website appear more modern and approachable and a multiple news channel appearance on the homepage.
How I went about it
The webmaster wanted a multi-news channel approach for her community so the only way to approach this is with a ‘magazine’ style layout. With a magazine/news layout, the latest news is always displayed to the user in logical chronological order. The website is catered for three games, so I decided to create three ‘news’ columns, each column listing the latest new posts for each game.
Three additional columns were also created to cater to Comments and Twitter feeds.
A slider was introduced to the website to display the important new articles of the week, like new content or game updates.
